Cold Shoulder Top

casual summer outfit

If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a hundred times: there is something about a cold shoulder top this spring and summer. I spotted this top before we went to California and was so excited to pair it with shorts and white jeans. Well, it was pretty warm while we were in the desert and I stuck to mostly dresses. But I had the opportunity to pair it with my favorite high-waisted jeans and white accessories a few weeks ago when we got back to Virginia.

Why you need a cold shoulder top for summer:

I have been wearing tops and dresses all spring and summer with this fun cold shoulder detail (exhibit A, B) and I truly believe that everyone needs something in their closet that shows off a little shoulder. I love that this detail “faux sleeveless”, but it still covers a little bit of your arm, too. And if I haven’t sold you yet on this trend, what I love most about this style is it’s versatility. Wear this top with pants, shorts, jeans or skirts — it’s truly a top for all summer.

Trendy top, trendy accessories

A trendy top calls for trendy accessories! I continued the tassel theme from my purse to my earrings. That’s another trend I’m still not sick of! Both of these pieces have been staples in my summer wardrobe. Can you believe this bag is under $25? It’s available in 5 colors and makes for the perfect, take anywhere summer bag.

I hope you all had a great weekend! As you can see, things are a little different around A Blonde’s Moment today! I finally made the switch to my new website and I hope you love it as much as I do. In an effort to make it more user-friendly, I’ve added some menus that will hopefully make finding content much easier. I’m still working on formatting older posts, so there could be a few kinks in the next couple days.

Thanks for reading and have a great start to the week!

    1. Thanks, Shauna! I’m so happy with how it turned out too. Glad you used the words “clean and fresh” because that’ exactly what I was going for! Happy Monday! xo

  3. Cute, but I have that top and the straps fall down when I sit down…do you have that problem too?

    1. I had a similar problem! With mine, I didn’t want to have to wear a strapless bra and the straps moved around a bit, so I pinned the back to keep the straps stable and in one place. I found that it ran big. I’m by no means a petite, but I’m wondering if I should have gone with the petite size. It was too cute not to keep and by the time I bought it, most of the sizes were picked over in the green. I’m sorry you are having a similar problem! I think J.Crew’s sizing has been off lately. Hope you had a great Monday! xo

  4. Green is seriously your color! The top is the cutest! I actually pinned it earlier because I loved it so much! Also loving the new layout girl! So pretty!!!!

  5. Hooray for getting your website up and running! I love the sleek and simple design! So I totally agree with you about cold shoulder tops being perfect for the summer, but I still have yet to actually make the leap and buy one! I don’t know what my problem is! I bet that this top would look super cute with shorts too!

  6. I’m in love with the whole OTS trend, and I like shirts like this one that still cover your upper arms well. I’m showing off something similar today too!
