Happy Thursday, friends! Now that we are almost to mid-November, I think it’s safe to say it’s a good time to start prepping your wardrobe for the holidays. And what better way than this CAbi beau jacket! It’s red with a bow. Could it be any more perfect?!

One of my favorite things about this jacket is that it’s super versatile. I know, I talk about versatile and multipurpose pieces a lot, but for me that is what is practical! If I can find something that I can wear to work and wear out to dinner on a weekend, that is an ideal piece. Granted, I have plenty of pieces that are strictly work or weekend, but when I can find something that works for both, that’s a win-win!

And continuing with the “beau” trend, I couldn’t help but style this look with my new lace-up flats. I’ve been searching for lace-up flats for a few months now, but most of what I was finding were a little too expensive for what seems like a trendier shoe. But when I found these, I was in love! Priced at only $60, it was a must-buy for me. And I have to say I am super happy with them so far — with a pointed toe and adjustable lacing, I found them to be true to size and even fit my regular to slightly wide foot perfectly!

What are some of your favorite ways to prep your closet for the holidays? I’ve included some of my favorite holiday-inspired pieces below for you to browse! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend and thanks for dropping by!

Since we covered the food aspect of Thanksgiving yesterday {here is the post in case you missed it!} I thought it would be a good idea to talk Thanksgiving fashion for this week’s Wednesday Wishes. Today, I am sharing Thanksgiving dinner outfit inspiration, no matter how fancy your celebration is!

For me, I am probably somewhere in between these two looks on the casual to dressy scale for Thanksgiving. The past two years have been freezing, and after running in the 5 mile Turkey Trot in the morning, all I could think about is comfort and warmth! Thankfully, we decided not to run in the race this year, so I will have a little more time to outfit plan, and I won’t be frozen!

In the first look, I am loving this check a-line skirt — it’s definitely a multipurpose skirt that can easily be worn throughout winter. It can also be easily paired with several colors — I love it with the ivory sweater for a more conservative look, while the bright yellow jacket would add the perfect pop of color!  And with a price tag of $60, it’s hard to beat!

For the second look, it’s all about fall colors. Doesn’t this look just scream Thanksgiving?! I have had an obsession with burgundy and shades of brown all fall and it seems that Thanksgiving is the perfect time to incorporate these colors into an outfit. Not only do these cute fringe booties look amazing with the skinny jeans, but they are perfectly on trend. Did you happen to recognize this crossbody? It was one of my favorite accessories in the bright lime green color all spring and summer, and now it’s back in stock for fall. P.S. It also comes in a fabulous pink!!!

Have you started planning your Thanksgiving dinner outfit yet? What do you typically wear for the celebration? Is it more casual or does your family dress up?

Have a wonderful Wednesday and see you tomorrow!

Happy Monday, everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! I celebrated my birthday on Saturday with my family and we had such a fabulous time! Except for the 7 miles I had to run in the morning in the pouring rain!! The weekend went so quickly, I cannot believe we are already back to Monday!

I have been loving this camel color lately. And I especially love it paired with black! It’s the perfect contrast and looks so fabulous with all the leaves falling, right?! I think everyone must have received the memo about my love for camel right now, because the majority of my birthday gifts contained this color! And each piece goes perfectly together! It was like it was planned perfectly 😉

A camel and black look wouldn’t be complete without leopard {and we all know my love for leopard!}. These pumps were my favorite purchase from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale over the summer and I still can’t get enough of them! Best part, they are now on sale! Sizes are going quick, so hurry over to check them out!

Do you have any colors that you are loving for fall? I would love to hear in the comments section below! Hope you all have a great start to the week and see you tomorrow for a special post all about preparing for Thanksgiving! It will be here before we know it!!

P.S. Have you checked out the Nordstrom Fall Clearance Sale yet?! It’s on now through November 15th and there are some great pieces at even better prices!!

violet & burgundy

Since purchasing these over-the-knee boots in the spring, it has been my mission to find pieces to wear with them. I have found a few blouses and sweaters that I have been wearing with them, but this floral blouse might be my favorite yet. Today, I am sharing with you a look I wore Saturday night while we were in Pittsburgh for the Steelers game.

I first spotted this silk floral blouse in J.Crew’s new arrivals email two weeks ago and knew I had to have it. I have a few silk blouses from last year and I wore them a ton — they are easy to wear by themselves or even under a vest, and the colors are always such vibrant shades. It was between this floral blouse and the leopard {I know, right?!} and the only reason I bought the floral and not the leopard was because the floral was included in the new arrival sale and the leopard was not! Although, after receiving this floral number in the mail, I couldn’t be more happy that I was being frugal that day! The colors are even more gorgeous in person and I can see myself getting a lot of use out of it — pairing it with jeans for a more casual look and styling it with a skirt for a more dressed up outfit. I will say that in last year’s silk shirts, I ordered my regular size and the fit was perfect. With this one, I was slightly concerned with the length and decided to size up. It was definitely the right call because it did seem to be a little short.

I love shopping for gifts for everyone on my list, and I am so excited that the time has finally come! If all goes according to plan, I would love to have my shopping done by Black Friday or Cyber Monday. So that means shopping needs to start NOW!

For today’s Wednesday Wishes and to kick off the holiday gifting season, I am sharing a few accessories that would be great to keep in your back pocket in case your husband, parents, boyfriend or anyone else needs ideas. These are also the perfect gifts for the hardest people on your list because they are items that you typically wouldn’t buy yourself — like these cozy slippers {I get a pair every Christmas!} or a fun collection of nail polish. And how cute are these monogrammed coasters?! They are available in over 20 different colors {personally, I love the sparkly gold and hot pink!} and make for a perfect gift to give and receive, especially for the hostess on your list!

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a great weekend! We spent the weekend in Pittsburgh for the Steelers game. Although we didn’t care much for the result, it was still fun to spend the weekend back in the city I spent my college years. We walked around my old college campus on Saturday and found the new ring statute — it was such a cool shot, I had to share it with you!

I wore this cozy fall look on Saturday for our drive into the city and it was the perfect choice. I cannot even describe to you how soft and comfortable this sweater is. I told my husband that it was so soft, I could sleep in it! As if that isn’t enough, it comes in 3 other colors and it’s under $50! I also love the high/low design of the sweater along with the marbled colors. There are hints of brown, blue and green which also makes for an easy to style sweater. I sized up in this sweater for a more relaxed look, and for length, I always seem to have issues with sweaters and tops being too short, but sizing up in this sweater was the perfect solution.

I can say with certainty that this sweater will be a staple in my fall wardrobe. I’m actually considering buying it in the other colors too — is that being too obsessed?! I’m a big believer in if you find something you like, stick with it! And let’s just say, I LOVE this sweater!

Thanks for dropping by and have a great week!

P.S. I’ve included a few more of my favorite sweaters for fall that are all under $50 — you can’t beat these deals!

It’s baccck! I’m sure you remember one of my favorite dresses from summer — I loved styling it during the warmer months and I’m still having fun pairing this dress with my fall accessories! I love that adding this faux fur vest instantly makes this a cozy autumn outfit. And with the fluctuating temperatures as of late {yes, I wore this cozy sweater in Monday’s post and now it’s back to lighter fall clothing!} pairing this chambray dress with the vest is the perfect way to layer when the temperatures aren’t quite cold enough for a jacket or coat. And how cute are these monogrammed boot socks?! I wear these ALL the time in the fall and winter, they look cute alone or with leggings or jeans. And they are super warm 😉

Hope you all have a wonderful rest of the week and weekend! We are heading to Pittsburgh and I am so excited to spend the weekend on my old stomping grounds! Follow along on Instagram {rach.mccarthy} and on Snapchat {rach.mccarthy7}! See you on Monday!

**lipgloss color: vermillion red**

Happy Wednesday! As those chilly temperatures are starting to set in, one thing is for sure: I have had layering on my mind! In today’s Wednesday Wishes, I wanted to share with you a different twist on layering. I love the idea of throwing a solid sweater over a patterned button down shirt so that just the shirt tail sticks out. It creates an unexpected layer that is not only warm and cozy but stylish too! And how cute are these boots?! I have had a pair of black riding boots similar to these for at least 5 years and they are still in pretty good shape. I really hate to give them up, but it’s probably time for a new pair. Although, I have to say, I’m really loving this deep chocolate color — I might have to find a different style riding boot in black!

I’ve also included some of my other favorite layering pieces I am currently loving below for you to check out. What is your favorite way to layer for the season? I would love to know in the comments section below!

Happy Monday! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend! We had such a busy Saturday — for those of you that follow me on Snapchat {rach.mccarthy7} you know that Ella participated in a Halloween costume contest and won best costume design {see the picture below!} She was the cutest Starbucks Frappuccino I’ve ever seen! We were so proud 🙂 Sunday consisted of chores and grocery shopping. As a side note, I have been hearing so much about Bath and Body Works candles lately. I decided I needed to stop and check them out. I’m not a HUGE fan of candles {most candles from Bath and Body Works and Yankee Candle give me headaches!} but I picked up this perfectly fall candle and I’m in love! It’s not too over-powering and literally smells like fall throughout our entire house! I would definitely recommend it 🙂

It was pretty chilly Saturday morning, and what better way to prepare for the colder temperatures than with the coziest sweater! I love that this sweater is of the cardigan variety — you can easily pair it with a scarf and it’s perfect for layering. Although I love my bright colors, most of my closet consists of black clothing {blame it on the 9-5 job!} But I love the shades of grey and ivory that are the perfect compliments to the the basic black. And can we talk about how it’s under $30?! SheIn has some fabulous pieces for fall, and they are all reasonably priced! I’ve picked out a few of my other fall favorites below, so be sure to check those out too!

Hope you all have a wonderful start to the week and see you tomorrow!

Happy Friday Eve, friends! Do you have any fun plans for this weekend?! We are heading to two {yes, two} Halloween parties for Ella on Saturday! We tried a Halloween parade last year and it was less than successful. This year, the Halloween party involves a “boneyard” graveyard, so we are hoping that if treats are involved, Ella will be in! I will share pictures next week 🙂

I’ve been waiting for months to wear these boots. I got them over the summer and have been so excited for the temperatures to drop and this past weekend, it finally happened! Although I am super excited about wearing these boots for the first time on the blog, I have to share with you this amazing deal. As much as I would love to have these boots in several colors, that’s not too practical. But, I have found the most amazing replica for under $90!! I have a feeling that I will be ordering a couple colors in the replica!

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend! See you Monday!

P.S. Did you recognize this cape?! I wore it with my red Hunter boots a few weeks ago {you can see the post here}. I love a versatile {and reversible!} piece that can be worn multiple ways in a season 🙂
