Each fall, there is an “it” color of the season. For me, I typically gravitate towards green, camel and burgundy in the fall. But this year, there is one color in particular I have my eye on. I think it’s safe to say I’ve found my fall color crush: rust.
Styling a white blouse is one of the easiest ways to take a piece from season to season. As I mentioned last week, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale has a tendency to give you unrealistic ideas about what month it actually is! I found myself telling my hair stylist yesterday that my hair was getting too blonde and we needed to darken it for fall. He looked at me like I was crazy and said, “Rachel, it’s the first day of August!” Needless to say, I have fall on my mind! In an effort to stay season appropriate, I wanted to share two looks today that incorporate the same white eyelet top styled for summer and fall.
The combination of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and the cooler temperatures this week have me counting down the days until fall. One color that I have been loving and wearing since January is green. I had high hopes for this shade when it was announced as the Pantone Color of the Year and it has not disappointed. I’m so excited to share today’s fall color inspiration with you because it’s a shade that continues to grow on me (and in my closet!). All of these pieces are perfect for transitioning from summer to fall.
Happy Friday! Today, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is officially open to everyone (you can see my top 10 must-haves from Early Access here). As I mentioned in Monday’s post, I have found that each time I venture to Nordstrom’s website during the sale, I discover new items. But today, I wanted to highlight a few of my favorite fall finds under $50.
The day is here! Early Access for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, where you can shop fall pieces at discounted prices, begins today. Early Access allows Nordstrom Credit Card Holders to shop the sale early. Non-cardholders can browse the selection, but won’t be able to purchase until next Friday. If you aren’t already a cardholder, you can sign up for a Nordstrom Credit Card here.
The sale itself can be overwhelming: not only in the quantity of sale items but also in the publicizing of the event (especially in the blogging world). For a different take on the sale, I’m sharing my top 10 must-have items from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale with you today. I’ve selected some of the best deals, closet staples and pieces that I already own so you can add them to your closet this fall. A few of these items are already in my cart! For those interested in a more comprehensive look at the sale and more details about the sale itself, check out the Nordstrom Anniversary tab I’ve created here.
Maybe it’s because the Fourth of July is next week, but I have been all about red lately. It’s a color that I like to wear, but don’t have a ton of it in my closet. Summer is the perfect time to break out this bright hue {or even add it to your closet!} especially with Fourth less than a week away!
Happy Summer, friends! With the first official day of summer, I wanted to kick off the new season with a round-up of my top summer must-haves under $50! These are a few fun and trendy, yet staple pieces that you will be able to wear all summer long.

And the best part: white dresses are super easy to style by changing out accessories. You can make it look like a different dress each time you wear it!

I saw THESE knotted flip flops a few weeks ago and they are selling fast! They are such a fun twist on the standard flip flop, it’s no wonder they are from one of my favorite shoe designers! As for the jelly flip flops, I already have these in two colors {black and ivory} and I’m considering purchasing another. Perfect for a day by the pool, I even wear them around the house or when I’m running errands. I highly recommend these!

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday!
Since the Fourth of July is less than three weeks away, I thought it was time to share more red, white and blue Fourth of July outfit inspiration. This patriotic color combo is one of my favorites to wear all summer long. As I like to say, there is nothing wrong with rocking that America pride all summer long!
outfit three: red lace dress | geometric clutch | gold statement earrings | beige sandalsHappy Wednesday! With wedding season in full swing, I thought I would share some outfit inspiration for those who have one {or several!} weddings to attend this summer. Figuring out what to wear to a wedding can be challenging no matter what time of the year. But in the summer, it’s even more difficult. The warm temperatures have always been my first concern, so I opted for three cool dresses for today’s set. Can you believe each one of these is under $200? And believe it or not, the floral maxi in outfit two is under $50! Now, on to accessories…
Although this is not a huge surprise, accessories are by far my favorite part of an outfit. Whether it be accessorizing with jewelry, shoes or handbags, each of these items can really elevate a look.
I have been eyeing these hot pink sandals for months now, trying to find something in my closet to wear them with. Not only do I love the color but the criss-cross ankle style is one of my favorites. It’s also available in a few other colors and they are under $80.
Rounding up the accessories, these statement gold earrings would be easy to dress up or down all summer and I love this bright geometric clutch — only $20 and it really adds something fun and different to the solid color dress.
Do you have any weddings this summer that you are planning outfits for? Would love to hear in the comments below! Have a wonderful Wednesday!
This might not be a newsflash, but I love pink year round. However, there is something about pink shades in the summer. And after being in California for the past week, I am ready to break out the bright colors for summer…especially all this fun pink!
I wore a similar pink dress out here in California {I will be sharing the post on the blog soon} and I can’t even tell you how much I love the style. There is something about pink and off the shoulder that makes my heart skip a beat!
As for accessories, I went with more statement pieces for this collage: these colorblock sandals would be the perfect accessory for a sundress and I love this floral statement necklace. Although the necklace is on the larger side, I think it would dress up a plain t-shirt or casual dress and give you a fun summer look.
Lastly, a home item that I was so excited to see, I couldn’t help but share it with you! These adorable popsicle molds would be perfect for a party or just a summer treat. I haven’t made homemade popsicles since I was little so when I saw these, it brought back so many memories. And I love the fun shapes!
We are wrapping up our time in California on Friday so I will finally have some time to edit photos today so be sure to check back tomorrow for an all new outfit post! I have taken a serious break from social media and a lot of things associated with the blog. Although I was still posting a normal schedule for the past week, this is the first time since I started ABM in 2013 that I actually stepped away from social media. It was so wonderful to enjoy a vacation without constantly being on my phone trying to document each bit of our time away. Unplugging from social media and technology is truly a wonderful thing! And although it was great to step away, I’m so glad to be back!
Thanks so much for stopping by, friends! Have a wonderful Wednesday!
