Finding the perfect dress for a wedding can be a challenge, especially when it’s a summertime wedding. The heat and humidity are huge factors when determining your look for the day. My cousin’s wedding was last weekend in downtown Annapolis and I had spent months trying to find the perfect dress. When I stumbled upon this cobalt blue peplum dress a few months ago, I knew it would be perfect for their nautical themed wedding.

Cobalt Blue Peplum Dress
The first thing that attracted me to this dress was the cute peplum detailing around the waist. Peplums are one of my favorite details and I just love how it gives this dress a waist. The square neckline (that also happens to be bra-friendly), shift style and length were all thing that gave this dress an A+ in my book. Next up was choosing a color. I initially loved the emerald green, but I couldn’t pass up the chance to wear this cobalt blue, especially to a wedding on the water. Heads up: along with the cobalt and emerald, this dress is also available in navy and coral. Speaking of this emerald green, I ended up purchasing the cold shoulder top from this post in the green! As far as fabric and fit: the fabric is a flattering cotton-silk combination that adds a layer of comfort and sophistication; while the fit is pretty true to size. I ordered the dress in my usual size and it was a little big, but nothing that would make me want to size down.
Gold Accessories
Once I decided on this dress, I began hunting for the perfect gold sandals. You may remember these gold, caged sandals from this post. Don’t get me wrong, I love these, but I wanted something that was a little more simple and with a lower heel. I had lots of dancing in my future! When I found these scalloped gold sandals, I instantly fell in love. Available in 9 colors and under $70, they complimented this cobalt blue peplum dress perfectly. I finished the look with these Lisi Lerch gold statement earrings that I have been eyeing for months. They were out of stock for awhile and as soon as I saw that they were back, I scooped them up quickly. The earrings are rather large, but surprisingly light for their size.
I hope you all have a great weekend! After a super busy few weeks, we are looking forward to a relaxing weekend at home. Thanks for reading, friends!

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, cobalt is absolutely gorgeous on you! I also love the idea of you in emerald, so that must have been a tough choice to make, but considering that it was by the water, this was indeed perfect! I love how you’ve accessorized it with gold pieces, they truly pop against the blue! Thanks for sharing, beautiful, and I hope you have a great weekend!
