Fall florals. I haven’t always loved florals in the fall, but it’s really growing on me this season. This was the last dress that I purchased ahead of NYFW and I instantly fell in love with it’s print and midi length. Although it’s technically an off the shoulder number, I decided to pair this fall floral dress with my go-to faux leather jacket for an early fall look.
Dress: Asos (only $56!) | Faux Leather Jacket: BLANKNYC | Ankle Boots: old (similar style) | Bag: Chanel, buy it pre-owned here | Sunglasses: Ray-Ban | Earrings: Panacea, sold out (love these too!) | Lipstick: #09
Fall Floral Dress
As I mentioned in Monday’s post, I was searching for a midi length dress for NYFW. I originally planned to wear this dress sans leather jacket, but it was a little chilly in New York. I wish that was the case here! Since I limited my shoes to just three for the trip, I was happy that the faux leather jacket and ankle booties worked well together. Because of this shoe limitation, you have been seeing these shoes a lot on the blog. And since it was unexpectedly chilly, the faux leather jacket was my go-to layer. Don’t worry, I will be giving these accessories a break after this week. At least they prove to be versatile!
There is so much to love about this dress besides the obvious fall floral. A lightweight fabric that is fully lined (!!) and fun off the shoulder and ladder stitch details makes this midi dress a great piece for transitioning to fall. Did I mention it’s only $56?! This dress is definitely a steal. I actually wore this dress to work on Tuesday with a moto jacket. You would never know it was off the shoulder! This dress came in quite handy with these summer-like temperatures. Dressing for work has been challenging to say the least this week. As for sizing, true to size and the perfect length. I am 5″8 for reference.
Weekend Plans: Walk to End Alzheimer’s with Kendra Scott
If you are in the D.C. area, I am hosting a Kendra Gives Back event with Kendra Scott to benefit the Alzheimer’s Association. This organization has held a special place in my heart since losing my grandmother to Alzheimer’s in 2013. When the girls at Kendra Scott approached me about hosting a charity event, I knew this would be a great match. The Walk to End Alzheimer’s takes place at Reston Town Center on Sunday and ends right in front of the Kendra Scott store.
Stop by Kendra Scott from 1:30 to 6 on Sunday to shop the gorgeous new collection while giving back. 20% of the proceeds will be donated to the Alzheimer’s Association. If you are not in the DC area and would like to support the cause and purchase some new jewels, you can call the Kendra Scott store at (571) 599-7792 to place your order and it will be sent out with free shipping the next day! You can see all the details below in the invitation.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! See you back here on Monday!
