With the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale in full swing, today I am sharing a different kind of post to kick off the week. After trying on most of my purchases (I’m still waiting for three more pieces!) here is a review of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale: the good, bad and ugly!
Nordstrom Anniversary Sale: The Good, Bad & Ugly
I always love anything leopard, and this clutch is no exception! Featuring genuine calf hair, the clutch also has an interior wall pocket that can hold up to six cards and an optional drop-in chain strap. As of Sunday evening, this clutch is sold out, but keep checking back throughout the sale for restocks and returns. Shop this leopard clutch here and a similar version here.
Stripe Ruffle Hem Dress // Leather Pumps
This stripe ruffle hem dress was a long shot when I ordered it. I thought the style, complete with stripes and a ruffle hem, was darling, but I was concerned about the length. Much to my surprise, the length was perfect! I am wearing the size medium regular and I am 5’8. It is also available in petite sizing. With 5 prints to pick from and under $50, this is a great wear to work dress for late summer and fall. I paired it with these leather pumps to show what they look like on. More on them below.
I didn’t fall in love with this pump until I saw it in person (I originally liked this one!) I couldn’t believe how great it looked when I spotted it on the first day of Early Access! They were sold out of my size at my store, but I was able to order it online. I love the round toe and flared block heel — it’s the perfect wear to work pump! Runs true to size and is under $80. Also available in a blush patent leather and tweed. Shop the pump here.
Grey Sweatpants, limited sizing
The. Most. Comfortable. Sweatpants. EVER! Unfortunately, they are only available in plus size, but keep checking back on these. **UPDATE: limited sizing available here! I sized up because I wanted them to be comfortable for wearing around the house, but they are probably too big. My husband says they look like “man pants” haha! But to be completely honest, whether they look like man pants or not, I’m obsessed with them! Keep checking for restock on this one! Stick to your regular size unless you like things super-oversized.
Nordy Girl Matte Face & Eye Set
Priced under $45 but worth over $200, I thought this was a good opportunity to try some new colors and a new mascara and eyeliner! I love these neutral colors that are great for now and all of fall.
Camel Wrap Jacket // Black Leggings
I talked about how excited I was for this coat in my first Anniversary Sale post featuring my top 20 items (see the post here). And wow, was I disappointed. I’ve been looking for a camel wrap jacket for years and was so excited for this one. The quality was poor, it was unlined and it seemed like there should have been buttons on the sleeves and/or the shoulders. Priced at $230, this coat is a no for me.
I first spotted these in the pre-sale catalog that came out last month and immediately starred it! Available in 5 colors, this is a great bootie for fall. It’s easy to slip on and I love the tapered heel and rounded topline. A super unique fall bootie! Nordstrom suggests sizing up on this one, but I found that it ran true to size. Shop it here.
My favorite pajamas ever! I already own these in two colors and when I saw this cute print, I knew I needed to add it to my collection. They are the softest and most comfortable fabric. I wear one of my three pairs every night! I like the long sleeve and pant version, but you can shop the short sleeve and short version here. Nordstrom recommends sizing down if you are in between sizes. However, I stick with my usual size. Shop them here.
There are always so many lipstick sets in the Anniversary Sale. I have a ton of nude and beige lipsticks and glosses, but I hadn’t tried these colors from MAC yet, so I figured it was the perfect opportunity. I love the lipstick and the gloss and I think they are a great combination to wear together all year round. However, I didn’t realize it was the “little” versions of each. I guess it’s a great opportunity to try a color that’s new to you, but I was expecting a larger size. Shop the set here.
Fleece Jacket // Grey Tee // Jeans (my favorite! on sale for $80 off!)
When I first spotted this fleece jacket, I couldn’t get over how soft and cozy it looked! These are some of my favorite pieces and what you can usually find me in around the house and on the weekends. When this jacket arrived at my front door, it was even softer then I had expected! I love that I could probably get away with wearing this as a jacket in the late fall and early winter since our winters are more mild. I highly recommend this fleece! Shop it here.
…
That’s a wrap on my review of some of my pieces from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! It’s difficult to pick a favorite, but that fleece jacket and leopard clutch are high on my list! What are your favorites from the sale? I’d love to know in the comments section below!
Thanks for reading, friends! See you back here tomorrow for a cool summer treat.
LOVE the name of this post!! The jammies are so cute and I want some “Man pants!” Look so comfy!! Love the boots and fleece jacket and seeing all the goodness you got! The Panacea double drusy necklace and Cut from the Kloth Connie jeans were favorite of mine. Happy Monday beautiful!
What a bummer about the camel jacket because it looks amazing! But quality is important when you’re paying so much!! That fleece jacket does look super cozy! I’m hoping to get my orders soon!! xo, Biana- BlovedBoston
I’m still so sad we don’t have an actual Nordstrom around here (just a Nordstrom Rack), so I never get to see things in person. I’ve been eyeing that leopard clutch <3
Green Fashionista
WOW is right with that coat! I had my eye on it but you can tell just from the pictures that the quality is poor! At least there were some wins! Those black booties are GORGEOUS!
Rosy Outlook

So interesting! I love these kinds of posts. I actually really wanted a wrap coat also and ordered that one, I’m curious to see if I will like it or not…
I’m obsessed with that fleece jacket! It looks so warm and cozy!
So many good finds, Rachel! I love the cozy coat and the camel coat the best. I only allowed myself two things this year, otherwise I would crazy like I do every year during the sale! 🙂 Hope you have a great week! Thanks for sharing your picks!
