Christmas Eve Dress

holiday dress outfit ideas

Can you even believe that Christmas is a week from today? Since we are quickly approaching the holiday, I wanted to share this year’s Christmas Eve dress with you in today’s post. It has always been a tradition to get dressed up on Christmas Eve and this emerald green dress might just be my favorite Christmas Eve dress yet.

Christmas Eve Dress

I have always looked forward to getting dressed up for Christmas Eve and going to church. It is definitely one of my favorite Christmas traditions! I started looking for a dress on Black Friday and ordered this gorgeous embellished tulle dress with polka dots (it’s already sold out but this is the skirt version). I couldn’t wait for it to arrive because I knew it was going to be perfect! After a little delay in shipping, it finally arrived and when I tried it on, it was SO short. I could not believe it! I’ve been having serious issues with the length of dresses lately. I went back on to J.Crew’s website and noticed that this dress was still available (and on sale!) in a tall.

Thankfully the fit was perfect. But I still feel like a tall should have been longer on me (I’m 5’8 for reference). But the color, lace details, bell sleeves in this dress are all perfect! As for accessories, I decided to play up the gold with a gold clutch, my go-to gold hoop earrings and these black suede pumps with a gold heel. These shoes are one of my favorites and were a C.Wonder find a few years ago. Does anyone else miss C.Wonder as much as me?! I guess you can still shop them at QVC, but it’s not the same.

Praline Rose Lipstick

I wanted to comment quickly on my lipstick in today’s post because it is one of my newest obsessions! My cousin’s wife sells Lipsense and decided to try a few colors. I have to say that I was skeptical. But it truly does stay on all day — through coffee in the morning, lunch and water all day long, it really is long lasting. I have been wearing this shade almost everyday since I got it. It’s a great neutral that has a little color. I also bought the Blu Red and it’s the perfect shade of red for Christmas. Anyways, if you are interested in giving Lipsense a try, I’ve linked her information above and here and you can message her.

Thanks so much for reading, friends! I hope you all have a great start to the week!

  1. Absolutely gorgeous in green! I love it and I love the tree backdrop. I have been skeptical on the Lipsense too but I think I need to try, your lips are so pretty! I’m 5’8″ too and those short short dresses..ugh! Have a fun and festive week!

  2. You look STUNNING for the holidays! And I love that you took pictures at RTC because the tree was SO pretty this year!! Also my best friend sells LipSense and she is OBSESSED with Praline Rose. Now I feel like I need to try it!

  3. We both got the tree memo today! 🙂 And you matched your dress perfectly with the bulbs! This would be the perfect Christmas Eve dress for church, I love that idea. Christmas Eve mass is one of my favorite things to do as a family, and I can’t believe it’s only a week away! How does it go so fast…Hope you guys had a great weekend!

  4. Can I just say Wow?! This green dress is absolutely gorgeous and you look stunning. Love your heels and the color combo of your clutch. Such a great outfit! 😍 It’s too bad that my family doesn’t really get dressed up. I like to glam up and feel out of place when everyone else is in jeans or sweaters. 😩 I hope you had a great weekend!

  5. Oh that dress is so pretty perfect for Christmas Eve!! This makes me want to step up my game for Christmas eve. We are going out for dinner for Christmas Eve this year so I really should get a pretty dress. Now, trying to find one at this time…that really is the problem. haha

  6. What a gorgeous dress; I thought it was a Self Portrait! I don’t recall seeing this one when I was shopping at J.Crew a few weeks ago, it probably sold out so fast because it’s so beautiful, haha. I also purchased my Christmas Eve dress from J.Crew, though I went with a LBD. Their dresses really are stunning and have the most beautiful details. Also, that lipstick sounds wonderful, so good to know that it does what it claims; the color looks beautiful on you! Thanks for sharing and I hope you have a great week ahead, girlie!

  7. I can’t believe that Christmas is a week away either! We still have a lot left to do before then, but I’m sure we’ll get it done! The color of this dress is perfect for Christmas Eve! We always get dressed up for Christmas Eve as well!

  8. You look amazing, Rachel! This color suits you so well.
I remember seeing you out taking pictures in the cold for this — I bet you were freezing. But you got some good shots!

  9. Pretty dress, stunning in green! Glad to hear your opinion of the Lipscense product. I’ve been thinking of trying it and wondered if it lived up to all the hype. Is it very drying on your kips? I’m so tired of all these long wearing lipsticks that dry my lips out.

    1. Hi Kellyann! So sorry that I am just seeing this now! I have really been loving Lipsense and wear it most days now! I will say it does dry out your lips the first couple of times you use it, but it does seem to get better once you use the product more. I’ve been using a scrub to exfoliate my lips and that seems to help too. I hope that helps. Thanks for reading! xo, Rachel
