It’s hard to believe we are just about half way through August already. Soon, it will be time for fall and everything pumpkin spice. However, I am still holding onto these last few weeks of summer with some of summer’s best desserts. From summer sugar cookies to peanut butter s’mores, here are the best summer desserts:

Southern Peach Cake

I am always hesitant to say something is my “favorite”, however it’s hard to beat this Southern Peach Cake in my book. Summer is the season for peaches, so there is no better time to make this recipe. I shared this Southern Peach Cake recipe a few years ago. It was my great-grandmother’s recipe and is one recipe we look forward to making each summer. See the complete post and recipe here.

Reese’s Peanut Butter S’mores

Because the only way to make a s’more better is to add peanut butter! I was reminded of this recipe over the weekend when I shared two of my favorite s’more recipes (see them here) for National S’more Day on Saturday. If you have been following along for awhile, you probably know that my love for peanut butter runs deep. I shared this Reese’s Peanut Butter S’more recipe last summer and I’m not sure why it took me so long to come up with the idea! Swapping the Hershey’s bar for a Reese’s cup took s’mores to a whole new level. If you aren’t a fan of Reese’s, use your favorite candy bar instead of the traditional Hershey’s bar. Summer Sugar Cookies

Grilled Peaches with Vanilla Ice Cream

Last, but certainly not least, I had to include one more peach recipe in this summer round-up. In my opinion, summer isn’t complete without peaches! I shared this recipe last summer and it was a popular one. I have mentioned I love using the grill during the warmer months, and being able to use it for this dessert was a fun spin on the traditional grilled food.
