It’s hard to believe we are just about half way through August already. Soon, it will be time for fall and everything pumpkin spice. However, I am still holding onto these last few weeks of summer with some of summer’s best desserts. From summer sugar cookies to peanut butter s’mores, here are the best summer desserts:
I’m not sure how it’s possible that tomorrow is August 1st. Where did July go?? And although we just have a little over a month of summer remaining, there is one good thing about the start of August: summer is on sale. Whether it is something you have had your eye on for a few months or if you are looking to stock up on summer basics at lower prices, it’s a great time to find summer on sale. Here are a few of my favorite summer pieces that are currently on sale:
Summer is not over yet! Jumping back to summer related content to share these summer sugar cookies. We made these a few weeks ago to test out a new technique and today I am sharing the results of our experimentation with royal frosting!
Typically, I am not a huge believer in New Year’s resolutions. I feel like if you want to do something, whether it be lose weight, exercise more or anything else, you don’t need to use the new year as an excuse to do it. However, at the beginning of 2019, I did make a resolution: to read more books. I have always enjoyed reading (I was an English minor in college after all!) but since graduating from undergrad, I haven’t had (read: made) the time to read. But, I am happy to report, I have embraced this year’s resolution! In today’s post, I’ve compiled a list of four books that I have read, am reading or have on my list to read. Here are my four books to read this summer:
It’s hard to believe tomorrow is the first day of August. Where has this summer gone?! With only a few weeks of summer remaining, here are 6 recipes to try before the end of summer.
Another day, another dress! There is no denying my love for dresses, but I think summer dresses are my favorite. It’s the coolest way to survive a D.C. summer! I had bought this dress for Palm Springs (perfect with the palms, right?!) but didn’t have a chance to wear it. We opted for Costco pizza on the second to last night of our vacation because we were so sick of getting dressed up to go out for dinner. Vacation should be relaxing, right? The Costco pizza was the best decision ever! However, I wasn’t able to wear this cute palm print sundress. Thankfully this casual number will look cute all summer long.
While I typically associate the color blush with spring, I have been noticing so many blush pieces lately. I thought it was time to create a color inspiration board with a color I’m crushing on for summer! What I love most about these pieces is that the color varies from the typical blush color. While the blush is present, there are some peachy and mauve tones in these items that make them a little different from the usual blush. I love this contrast and I think it works well for styling outside of the traditional blush season of spring. Here are some of my favorite summer blush crush pieces…
