Currently Watching: Netflix

currently watching: netflix

Happy Tuesday, friends! I hope you all had a wonderful long holiday weekend. A little bit of a different post today. At the end of last summer, I shared a similar “currently” post (see it here) with you and had hoped to continue the series. Then we moved and life got turned upside down. But, I’m back today with a TV round up: Currently Watching: Netflix.

Currently Watching: Netflix

I will start off by saying, we don’t watch a ton of television. When we do, it’s typically the news or tennis! However, on Friday and Saturday evenings in the summer, we have been watching more and more shows on Netflix. Here are a few of the shows and movies we have been watching recently:

Gossip Girl

This was one of my favorite shows in high school and college and with the entire series on Netflix, we are in the process of re-watching the show. Taking place in the Upper East Side of New York City, the show is narrated by “Gossip Girl” and follows the lives of the most privileged teens living in the city. Based on a book series (which was one of my favorites!) the television show was on air for 6 seasons. I love the characters and of course the fashion. Blair has always been by spirit animal — she’s a fellow lover of headbands!

Fuller House

Probably not anything new, but this has been one of my favorite series to watch on Netflix. I loved Full House growing up so I was ecstatic when they announced the reboot a few years ago. Currently, there are four season available on Netflix and the fifth and final season is set to be released later this year. Fuller House centers around the life of the oldest Tanner sister, D.J. (now D.J. Tanner-Fuller) a veterinarian with three sons, who is living in the Tanners’ childhood home in San Francisco with her younger sister, Stephanie, and best friend, Kimmy, and Kimmy’s daughter. As I like to say, a “good and wholesome” show, it’s one of the only shows I have been able to finish an entire season in a few days.

The Crown

Many of you may know of my obsession with the royals, so naturally I had to start watching The Crown. Although I am not too far into the series, I have loved it so far. Not only do I love all things British Royalty, I am a huge history buff, so this is right up my alley. For those who don’t know, The Crown follows the reign of Queen Elizabeth II. Although there are currently only two seasons available, the series is intended to include six seasons covering Queen Elizabeth’s life. Season three will be released November 17 of this year, so now is a great time to catch up on season one and two!

A Christmas Prince

I know it is barely September, but A Christmas Prince is one of my favorite Christmas movies of all time. Released in 2017, this Netflix movie follows the life of an American reporter, Amber, sent to the country of Aldovia for a press conference with the crown prince, Richard, who is set to take the throne following his father’s death. Rumor has it Richard is planning to abdicate. I don’t want to give too much away, so I will just say it’s a cute romantic comedy and is a must-see no matter what time of the year. I actually just watched it again last week! Last year, Netflix released the sequel, A Christmas Prince: The Royal Wedding, which I watched at least five times last December. And big news, Rose McIver, the actress who plays Amber, hinted at a threequel coming this holiday season. And you guessed it, this one is A Christmas Prince: The Royal Baby.

….

What have you been watching on Netflix lately? I’d love to hear in the comments section below! Thanks for stopping by, friends. See you back here on Thursday!

  1. Aww, such darling pictures. I have not seen a Christmas Prince but now I really want too. I am a sucker for all Christmas movies!!

  2. Ahhhhh I can’t take all of this puppy cuteness! Hi Ella! You both look so adorable 🙂 I’m afraid to admit that we aren’t huge Netflix fans (I know!!). We are probably the only 2 people on the planet who don’t use it that much. But I did see an episode of Fuller House and liked it!
