Fall Colorblock Cardigan

long fall cardigan outfit

Fall is in the air here in the D.C. area! Cooler temperatures arrived Saturday morning and to say I was ecstatic would be an understatement. I have so many fall sweaters to wear, I didn’t even know where to begin! However, this fall colorblock cardigan has been on my “to wear” list since I discovered it about a month ago, so it seemed fitting to wear it Saturday to kick off the fall temperatures.

Fall Colorblock Cardigan

During the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, I fell in love with a Madewell colorblock cardigan that looks extremely similar to this one. I placed it in my shopping bag and headed to the checkout quickly. You may remember reading about this story from this post. Like so many people, part of my Anniversary Sale order was cancelled, including the Madewell cardigan. I was disappointed, but since it was sold out, there wasn’t much I could do. About a month after this disappointment, I came across this colorblock cardigan and couldn’t believe my eyes. An almost clone of the Madewell version at a fraction of the price! Priced under $30, this cardigan is a great fall find. The fabric is super soft and cozy. I am wearing my usual size, medium, and I like the slightly oversized fit. It’s also available in another colorblock color and solid colors as well. You can see the more expensive Madewell cardigan here.

Fall Basics

Although this fall colorblock cardigan is the star of today’s post, there are also some fall basics I wore to complete the outfit. My go-to high waisted jeans are some of my favorite in the fall and winter. I have had them for a few years and they still look great. Another fall basic is this long sleeve burgundy tee. Although it’s from a few seasons ago, it pairs perfectly with the colors of this cardigan. I found a similar style and color here. It’s a great layering option for this time of the year! Lastly, these Tory Burch riding boots are a fall staple in the shoe department. Although this exact pair is no longer available, the newer version of the boot is here and I found this similar style for under $150!

Also, one note about this lipstick and lipgloss combination. I have been wearing this combo for the past month or so and I am obsessed! It’s the perfect fall neutral that gives you just a little bit of color. And it seems to match so many different outfits! It has been my go-to for work, as well. And I love how long-lasting it is. It’s a great everyday color combination!

  1. Trade your weather for ours! We are back in the 90’s and it’s so horrible. Definitely ready for this heat wave to pass us by… I love this cute colorblock sweater. The colors could not be anymore fall if they tried. I love it for Thanksgiving too 🙂 Enjoy that weather and have a good week!
