Summer is not over yet! Jumping back to summer related content to share these summer sugar cookies. We made these a few weeks ago to test out a new technique and today I am sharing the results of our experimentation with royal frosting!
Ingredient: salt
Summer Watermelon Salad
Summer and Memorial Day are just around the corner and today I am sharing one of my favorite side salads for the summer. We made this easy summer watermelon salad countless times last summer and already once this summer! With only a few ingredients, this summer dish is the perfect compliment for your next BBQ!
Cinco de Mayo Sugar Cookies
Happy May, friends! Isn’t it crazy that we are already starting the fifth month of the year? The start of May means one thing. Cinco de Mayo is just around the corner! I always like to share a Mexican-themed food post for the holiday and this year I went the sweet route with these Cinco de May sugar cookies! These sugar cookies are the very best and with the fun frosting colors and decorations, you will be ready to party on Saturday.
Fried Green Tomatoes
I am not one to eat fried food that often, but there is one fried food I will always make an exception for: fried green tomatoes. If I am at a restaurant with this delicious southern appetizer on the menu, you can bet I am ordering it. I hesitate to declare a “favorite” but fried green tomatoes are definitely high on my list of favorite foods. And while I have found some restaurants that have pretty good fried green tomatoes, I figured it was time to make my own. After trying a few recipes, I have finally found one that is a winner.
The Ultimate Gingerbread Cookies
As I hinted at in last week’s recap of the Best Christmas recipes, I have a serious love for gingerbread. Last year, I made this Gingerbread Cake with Sugared Cranberries. It was so delicious and a fun spin on the traditional cookie. This year, I wanted to go back to the classic and share gingerbread cookies on a new level with the cutest set. They truly are the ultimate gingerbread cookies!
Baked Pumpkin Donuts
Happy Halloween! I thought these cute and festive baked pumpkin donuts would be a fun recipe to share today given the holiday. But these donuts are not exclusive to Halloween. Make them for the rest of fall and pair them with cider for a yummy fall treat!
Homemade Pumpkin Waffles
Welcome to pumpkin season! I am taking full advantage of the fall season and cooking up a few of my pumpkin favorites. Last year, I made these pumpkin rolls with caramel frosting as a sweet breakfast treat. But this year, I wanted to try my hand at something a little more from scratch. I always like to share quick and easy recipes with you, but I thought that since this was a simple recipe, it would be fun to kick off the pumpkin season with homemade pumpkin waffles.
Southern Peach Cake
Peaches are one of my favorite fruits, but especially this time of the year when they are in season. As with most families, there are quite a few recipes that have been passed down through the years in mine. My southern great grandmother’s peach cake is definitely one of our favorites. My aunt and cousin were down in Virginia visiting my mom and dad this past weekend and we thought it was the perfect opportunity to make one of my great grandmother’s recipes: Southern Peach Cake.
