Today is the day the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale opens to non-cardholders! And while the rumor is that restocks will be happening today (fingers crossed!), it seems like there are a lot of things that have sold out. Although I am still waiting on a few things I ordered early last week, I am sharing my thoughts on my purchases from the sale in this year’s Nordstrom Anniversary Sale: Good, Bad & Ugly.
Nordstrom Anniversary Sale: Good, Bad & Ugly
As I mentioned in earlier posts, my NSale wish list looked a little different this year. While I usually stock up on essentials during the sale, it seems that given the amount of time I spend at home these days, the casual and basic pieces were highlighted even more so this year. Here are my thoughts on a few of my purchases from this year’s Nordstrom Anniversary Sale:
Colorblock Pullover | Leggings
The one item that was in stock when the NSale ended for cardholders! Which I find funny because this pullover might be my favorite purchase from the sale! I think this pullover is worth reviewing because the reviews are terrible. From what I have seen of the reviews, people are complaining that the pullover makes them look huge. Here is my take: it is a fleece, fluffy, and thick pullover designed for the fall and winter temperatures. Of course it makes you look bigger! However, it is one of the softest and coziest pieces in my closet and I will be wearing it all fall and winter long with leggings and boots. I am wearing a size medium (my true size) and it is a little oversized. The length is good — I am 5’8 for reference.
Black Cardigan (available in several colors) | Leopard Tee (other colors available, too) | Skinny Jeans (not included in the sale)
Basic Tees
I was looking to add a few basic tees to my collection during the sale. Cardigans have been on repeat lately, and I don’t have many basic tees to wear under them. I picked up this tee in leopard (seen here) and a plain white. Priced under $13, I figured it was a good opportunity to stock up! As for my thoughts on the tee — it’s just ok. I ordered a medium (my usual size) and I found this leopard version to be smaller than the plain white (see below) even though it’s the same shirt. And it’s pretty sheer — I guess it works if you are pairing it with a cardigan, but an important note if you are wearing it on it’s own. I would say it’s true to size. I usually like my tops to be a tad oversized and this tee is a true medium.
Colorblock Cardigan | White Tee (other colors available, too) | Skinny Jeans (not included in the sale)
Colorblock Cardigan
After missing out on the popular colorblock cardigan during last year’s sale, I was really hoping to pick up this year’s version. This is a great sweater for fall — I love the neutral colors, especially how the camel color is on the back of the cardigan. A great sweater to wear in the fall and easy to pair with jeans and boots, I love the soft fabric of this sweater and the pockets. I am wearing a medium and I love the slightly oversized fit!
Pink Stripe Pajamas
I have been raving about these pajamas for years! And each NSale, I purchased another pair. I wear them every night and already own them in several colors. This year, I noticed that these pink stripe pajamas run a little larger than the other pajamas I own in this style. But still the great fabric! I am wearing my true size, medium.
Printed Workout Leggings | Tank (non-sale item)
Printed Workout Leggings
I have too many workout leggings to count, but since I go to Orangetheory at least five days a week, it’s nice having backups so I am not doing laundry as much. I love the animal print of these leggings, and although I originally bought these because I thought they had pockets (which they don’t) I am still keeping them. On Monday, I wore them to Orangetheory and they were super comfortable and soft. Soft and cool workout leggings are a must for me! As for sizing, I am wearing my true size, a medium, and they fit well. However, if you are in between sizes, I would suggest sizing up.
Leopard Dog Sweater | Leopard Dog Bed
I shared Ella’s sweater and bed in Monday’s post (see it here), but since they are included in this year’s sale, I thought I would mention them again. Ella loves both (as she does with any Barefoot Dreams!). Ella is wearing a medium in the sweater (she is 16 pounds) and the bed is a size large. I did expect the large size of the bed to be bigger, but it is plenty big for Ella!

Thanks for stopping by, friends! Have a wonderful Wednesday!
Ellas sweater is soooogood and so is that pullover. I got way too many things and half of it is going back, lol. Ended up being disappointed in some of it. ‘‘Tis the sale, lol.
I think you did a great job of focusing on things youll definitely be wearing this fall / winter – we’ll all likely still be home more often than not! xo, Biana BlovedBoston
I looooove your second look with the black cardigan! And who doesn’t love a comfy pair of PJs?!
