Recent Amazon Finds – June 2020

recent amazon finds may 2020

Well hello! I feel like I probably need to reintroduce myself given my long absence here on ABM. All I can say is, what a crazy time we are living in! I hope everything is well with all of you — everything here is good! I will recap a little of the last two months with you, but the main reason I’m here is to share some recent Amazon finds with all of you! Since quarantine began in March, my Amazon purchases have accounted for most of the deliveries at our house. Well, and Richard ordering wine haha!

Life Update

It has been a whirlwind two months. Frankly, I feel like time has been flying since quarantine started nearly four months ago. My last day in my office was March 13. The thinking was that we would work from home for two weeks and then be back. With July just a few days away, I am still working at home. And although it seems like forever since I have been in my office, the weeks seem to go pretty fast for us. I’m thankful that Richard and I are both able to work from home and that we have been busy. Like busier than pre-quarantine days! (Hence the lack of blog posts.) A busy schedule really makes time pass quickly.

Being at home has us working on projects that we have wanted to accomplish since moving in, like hanging pictures and working on the landscaping. Also, some unexpected purchases: like a new washer and dryer and a new hot water tank. I guess it’s good these things decided to die while we were at home and we didn’t have to make arrangements to leave work to be here for the installation!

Here in Northern Virginia, things are starting to get back to normal. OTF returned a little over a week ago and Richard and I are thrilled! We ran outside the entire time OTF was closed (thankfully!) but it is nice to get back to something that was a staple in our lives before the virus. And I have to say, I’m so impressed with all the health and safety measures OTF is following. I was a little hesitant to go back, but after going to class almost everyday for the past week, they are really doing a great job with social distancing and disinfecting.

Phase 3 starts for us on Wednesday, and while Virginia has taken a slower route to re-open, I think it has been for the best. Not to get too political, but I was super critical over our Stay at Home order that was issued in March with an expiration of June 10th. That was almost three months which seemed like an eternity! But with over 1 million people in our county alone, a slower start and the face mask requirement that has been in place for over a month now, it seems like (at least so far) Virginia is in a good place. Just hoping it stays that way!

Wednesday is a big day. The start of Phase 3 and my hair appointment! I haven’t had my hair cut since December or highlights since the beginning of February. I haven’t been super concerned with the color — I thankfully don’t go much lighter than my natural color. However, my hair is SO long. It’s driving me absolutely crazy! Not sure that I am up for a dramatic cut, but I will be so happy for a trim. Ok, that’s about all — not quite as quick as I thought. Without further ado, here are my most recent Amazon finds…

Recent Amazon Finds

Amazon has been coming through since quarantine began. I have been using Prime to order just about everything! Here is a round up of a few of my recent Amazon finds:

coffee table books

Coffee Table Books

This is something that has been on my list to buy since we moved in, but I never seemed to get around to it. However, now that we are home a lot more, it was driving me nuts! Amazon has a great selection of coffee table books. You can really find books of any subject. I picked two books that have a special meaning to us. Palm Springs and Napa are our two favorite destinations, so I wanted to make sure they were represented in our home decor. And maybe I was feeling a little sad since we weren’t able to take our annual anniversary trip there this year haha! Wine Dogs of California is one of our favorites and there are quite a few editions.

mini pink fan

Mini Pink Fan

Although I use this fan for setting my makeup and eyeshadow, this is the perfect mini portable fan for just about anything! With two speed settings, this mini fan is rechargeable with a USB cord. So convenient! I’ve been trying out new eye makeup over the past few months and I have found this fan to be so helpful when setting my foundation and layering eyeshadow. It really speeds up the makeup process with less waiting around for dry time.

glamorous wash amazon

Glamorous Wash – Diva

I have talked about this laundry detergent here before and here I am mentioning it again! I just purchased another bottle and I am still obsessed with it. It has the best scent and is perfect for washing bedding and blankets. I usually use this for our blankets and throws in the family room, mattress pads, and pillow covers. It is a little on the expensive side when it comes to detergent, but a little goes a long way!

acrylic makeup organizer

Acrylic Makeup Organizer

Quarantine has been a great excuse to organize just about anything and everything. For me, that also included my makeup. I have a ridiculous amount of makeup and skincare products, but a good amount of the products are just for occasional use. I wanted to organize my everyday makeup and skincare so that I could easily find it. This acrylic makeup organizer was the perfect solution! With four drawers, I have my everyday makeup grouped by how I use it which makes it easy to find what I’m looking for. Between this and the fan (see above) I have cut off some serious time with my makeup and skincare routines!

cute designer dupe headbands

Headbands

We all know I have a serious love for headbands and when I saw these designer inspired headbands, I knew I had to add them to my collection. Unfortunately, they are currently sold out on Amazon. But, if you are looking for something similar, I did find these. Just to note, this headband is definitely Fendi inspired since Fendi doesn’t actually make a headband like this. If you would like to see Fendi’s hair accessory selection, you can see it here.

redken hairspray

Redken Hairspray

This has been my go-to hairspray for a few years now and I was so excited to see that it available on Amazon! Pre-COVID days, I would pick it up at Ulta, but back in March and April when Ulta was closed, I was lost until I discovered it on Amazon! Not only is this hairspray great for holding your curls, it doesn’t leave your hair feeling sticky and it has the best scent!

tie dye slippers

Tie Dye Slippers

While regular shoes do not get as much use these days, my slippers sure do! I usually get my favorite pair of J.Crew slippers for Christmas each year and they last an entire year. However, they are just about worn out and we are only about halfway through the year! I found these open toe slippers on Amazon that I thought would be perfect for summer and keeping my feet cool around the house. Available in several colors and patterns (my mom got them in pink leopard and they are so cute too!) I couldn’t pass on the tie dye. It’s all the rage right now and something fun to wear around the house. The slippers run true to size. I wear a 9.5 shoe and the size 9-10 fit perfectly.

I actually took these pictures about a month ago and haven’t had the time to edit them and get this post together! That means I will be sharing another Amazon finds post soon because I have more purchases I have made in the last week that I can’t wait to share with all of you! Stay tuned for new posts too. I’m hoping that I can get back on a semi-regular schedule now. Check back Wednesday for an all new Wednesday Wishes featuring a trend that I have been loving for summer. I hope you and your family are all doing well and staying safe and healthy. Thanks for your continued support and for stopping by, friends!
