After a weekend full of holiday cooking, I have a few holiday recipes to share with you in the coming weeks. Tis the season, right?! But before we jump into those, I wanted to recap a few of my favorite recipes of Christmas past. From the most delicious gingerbread cake and classic sugar cookies to a fun holiday cranberry cocktail and yummy hot cocoa cookies, these are just a few of the best recipes of Christmas.
The Best Recipes of Christmas
When it comes to Christmas recipes, it’s really hard to pick a favorite. The holidays bring some of my favorite flavors of the year: sugar cookies and gingerbread are definitely at the top of my list! Along with these two favorites, cranberries and hot cocoa are also included in this post! Here are a few of my favorite holiday recipes from over the years:
Christmas Gingerbread Cake with Sugared Cranberries
I think this gingerbread cake (literally) takes the cake from last year’s recipes. Not only is it gorgeous and looks like the perfect Christmas cake, it’s delicious too! A relatively easy recipe that creates a beautiful presentation, this gingerbread cake is a holiday must! See the recipe here.
Christmas Sugar Cookies
My mom has been making these sugar cookies for as long as I can remember and they are one of my favorite recipes year round, but especially around Christmas. I even made them for New Year’s last year here. More of a shortbread texture, you can’t just eat one of these yummy cookies. Pick out your favorite holiday cookie cutters and enjoy these easy and delicious Christmas cookies! See the recipe here.
Hot Cocoa Cookies
Nothing says the holiday season like hot cocoa. And although this hot cocoa takes the form of cookies, these are just as delicious as the drink version. While so many Christmas cookies have several ingredients, these hot cocoa cookies are quick, easy and only have a few ingredients! And they capture the flavors of the season perfectly. See the recipe here.
Cranberry Holiday Cocktail
Last, but certainly not least, a holiday get-together is not complete without a fun cocktail! The mixture of cranberry juice and sparkling wine or champagne combine for the perfect party drink. Or swap the alcohol for grape juice for a refreshing non-alcohol drink! No matter how this festive drink is served, it will be a pretty drink for your next holiday party! See the recipe here.
What are your favorite holiday recipes? Thanks for stopping by and have a great Tuesday!
