Where to Find Cozy Sweaters

snow day outfit idea

Don’t let the sun in these pictures fool you. As with much of the country, it has been terribly cold here in Northern Virginia. I think the temperature was around 10 degrees when we were taking these pictures! Definitely colder than your typical winter day in Virginia. With the cold temperatures continuing through the weekend, I have been reaching for my warmest sweaters. It got me thinking, what stores are my go-to for finding cozy and warm sweaters? Today I am sharing where I have been finding reasonably priced, trendy and warm sweaters this winter.

Love Affair with Zara

There is no question that Nordstrom and J.Crew are two of my favorite stores. I love the wide variety Nordstrom has to offer and J.Crew’s preppy and more conservative styles. And although my style would be classified more as classic and preppy, I do like incorporating trendy pieces into my wardrobe. One of my new favorite stores for trendy pieces is Zara. As I mentioned in this post, Zara is a store that I always seem to forget about. The majority of their pants and dresses are too short for me, but I have always had luck with their jackets, sweaters and tops. You may remember me raving about this hot pink sweater with faux fur pockets in this post a few weeks ago.

Cozy & Warm Winter Sweaters

I bought three sweaters from Zara back in November and these are some of my favorite sweaters I have purchased in awhile. Not only are they cute, on-trend and different from what you find at Nordstrom or J.Crew, but they are WARM! I always love a good oversized sweater or top and Zara has quite the selection. Most of all, the prices are reasonable. That is one pet peeve of mine: I hate expensive trendy items! I would much rather spend money on an expensive classic piece that will still be in style in a few years instead of a trendy item that can only be worn this season.

For this look, I paired this cute “blonde” sweater with my go-to black skinny jeans, warm beanie and snow boots. I received these snow boots a few years ago for Christmas. They truly are the trifecta: cute, comfortable and warm. And I cannot believe how many opportunities I have had to wear them.  Especially in Virginia!

Zara Sale

With all that being said, Zara has a huge sale each year beginning on December 26th that is still going on, so the selection might be a little picked over. The good thing is that new stock is added frequently (another thing to love!) so keep checking back. One more thing to note: I should mention that this post is in no way sponsored by Zara. They do not even offer affiliate links! I just wanted to share a brand that I am loving that is perfect for trendy, affordable (and warm!) pieces.

What are your feelings about Zara? Are you new to Zara or are you a frequent buyer? Do tell! Thanks for reading, friends, and have a great rest of the week and weekend!

  1. Such a cute sweater, I saw a similar sweatshirt at Nordstrom with cold shoulder cut outs. They had one for blonde and one for brunette, and I’m kicking myself for not jumping on it because of course they’re now sold out. Stay warm girlie! <3

  2. How cute is this sweater?! It’d be awesome if they had it in ‘brunette’! I’ve acrually forgotten about Zara, too. Nordstrom has been a fave of mine for a while, as well as Banana Republic,. I’ve also found some great sweaters at Asos, too, but have never gave Zara a though, until now. I’ll definitely have to check them out. Thanks so much for sharing, beautiful; keep warm!

Such a cute find on this sweater, and I’m so jealous of your snow. I’m a broken record…but it’s just so pretty! Happy weekend, Rachel!

  6. I’ve heard such great things about Zara but I haven’t actually really shopped here before. It was pretty cold down here for a while too, so I was loving everything super warm and cozy, even though we didn’t venture outside too much!
