A floral embroidered dress. Is there anything better? When I spotted this dress a few weeks ago, I knew it was the perfect party dress to take to New York for Fashion Week.

Leopard Blazer
Oh, leopard. How I love you so! With the unofficial arrival of fall, it’s the perfect opportunity to sift through your closet and bring out all your leopard pieces. Although animal print can technically be worn anytime of the year, there is something about the fall that makes me so eager to wear this print. As soon as I laid eyes on this leopard blazer, I knew it had my name written all over it.
Grey Bell Sleeve Sweater
If fall is anything like this summer to fall transitioning time, my fall wardrobe is going to be pretty heavy on the sleeve show. Bell sleeves, statement sleeves, I can’t get enough! I spotted this grey bell sleeve sweater during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and knew it had to be mine. I mean, look at the sleeves!
Fall Floral Blouse
It has been unseasonably cool here in the D.C. area the past few days. Very uncharacteristic for August, but I won’t complain! I spotted this fall floral blouse during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and loved the darker colors. This weekend’s weather presented the perfect opportunity to break out the fall colors for this summer to fall transitional look.
Pattern Mixing with Leopard and Stripes
Pattern mixing in the fall is one of my favorite things. And although it isn’t fall yet, I could not resist sharing this stripe and leopard combination with you a little early. Especially these leopard ankle booties. Of all patterns, stripes and leopard are one of the easiest to experiment with. Today is all about pattern mixing with leopard and stripes.
Oversized Camel Cardigan
Yesterday’s post was all about my color crush with rust for fall. But when it comes to a basic, go-to fall color combination, I will always gravitate towards camel and black. It’s an easy combination of two colors that fill my closet and I love the contrast of the two shades. This oversized camel cardigan will be a closet staple for the entire fall season.
Burgundy Dress and Chambray Shirt
One of my favorite ways to style a sleeveless dress for a different look is pairing it with a chambray shirt. Especially this time of year, a chambray shirt allows you to still mix a little summer into a fall look. The colors in this burgundy midi dress are so vibrant, I couldn’t wait until the temperatures cooled down to share it with you! Not to worry, I will be styling it again for fall. But in the meantime, this burgundy dress and chambray shirt make for the perfect summer to fall transitional look.
Gingham Dress and Leather Jacket
Since seeing the faux leather jacket during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, I’ve been dying to wear mine. My leather jacket was a purchase from a previous Anniversary Sale and it’s one of my favorite layers in the fall and winter. Last Saturday, there was a serious chill (and wind) in the air and an extra layer became a necessity. I paired this gingham dress and leather jacket together for an easy summer to fall transitional look that happened to be a little preppy and a little edgy.
Ruffle Sleeve Top and Neck Scarf
Another ruffle and a neck scarf makes it a pretty trendy Monday here on ABM. There is no denying my love for ruffles (see Thursday’s post) but neck scarves are a trend I have been interested in trying for a few months. When I first saw this silk scarf at cabi’s Blogger Day back in May, I knew it had to be part of my fall wardrobe. I’m looking forward to styling it with all the fall colors and textures in a few weeks, but I decided to go with a more weather appropriate styling in the meantime. This ruffle sleeve top and neck scarf is a great summer to fall transitional look.
Lilac Ruffle Sleeve Cardigan
I am sure you are starting to sense a common theme around here. Yes, I will confess. I have a ruffle problem. And the funniest thing is until last year, I never really liked them! Ruffles of the past, in my opinion, were over the top girly and often seemed overwhelming. Which I realize is ironic since this lilac ruffle sleeve cardigan has some pretty big sleeves.
