The season of jackets, coats and outwear is just about here! Today, I am continuing my fall trends series (see a complete list of posts below) with capes, jackets and other outerwear. There are so many great fall trends in the outerwear category this season. It’s not your traditional black topcoat anymore! Don’t get me wrong — a black topcoat is still perfect, I have several! However, there are a lot of colors, prints and faux fur to be worn this fall. Here are my fall trends: capes, jackets & outerwear!
Fall Trends: Capes, Jackets & Outerwear
I have always had a coat obsession. I blame it on my mom since she was a coat buyer back in the day. It’s in my blood! And although I have quite an extensive coat collection, I am embarrassed to say I have a few of these in my cart already. Whoops! I am loving all the colors and fabrics we are seeing this season. These coats are so unique, I don’t have anything like them in my closet. Here are a few of my favorites:
- It would be difficult to not start with this bright pink and red colorblock faux fur coat. How can you resist these colors AND faux fur! Continuing with the bright colors, this check wool blend coat is the perfect fall layer if you are looking to add a plaid coat to your collection. I love the striped collar!
- Next up is puffer coats and jackets. I have a puffer coat from years ago and it’s still going strong. It’s just a plain black, super warm coat that is saved for the coldest winter days. However, I love this blush pink quilted hooded parka for a different spin on the traditional coat. It’s slightly more fitting and I love that it is something other than the standard black. (Although, it is available in black!) The leopard puffer is one of the jackets that is currently in my shopping cart. I have been looking for a casual, everyday warmer jacket and this leopard number checks all the boxes. It would be perfect for wearing around town to run errands or even dressed up with leggings and cute winter boots (I have my eyes on these right now!).
- Last, but not least, faux fur jackets and coats had to be included in the mix. They are some of my favorite! I love this plain cropped black faux fur jacket. And you can’t beat the price! This black and pink stripe faux fur coat is also on my list. It love the pink stripe and it would be so cute dressed up for date night!

That first color blocked coat is gorgeous! I really love the quilted hooded parka as well! Great round up – so many of these would come in handy in Boston! xo, Biana –BlovedBoston

So many cute options out there now! I love capes, but they just aren’t practical for Michigan weather!
