Valentine’s Day Accessory: Red Beret

how to wear a beret

Happy Monday, friends! How crazy that we are halfway through February already. And since Valentine’s Day is Wednesday, I wanted to share an outfit idea for the holiday that isn’t completely over the top. Don’t get me wrong — the more red (and especially pink!) the better. But if you are looking for a way to subtly add these colors into you outfit for Wednesday, there is no better way than through accessories. Whether it be with a red beret, jewelry, handbags or even lipstick, there are many ways to incorporate a little Valentine’s Day spirit into your look.

Red Beret

Accessories are a great way to incorporate color into your outfit no matter what time of the year. I picked up this red beret in early December and did not have a chance to share it before Christmas. I figured that it’s bright red color would also work well for Valentine’s Day, so I decided to wait until now to share it with you. Unfortunately, it sold out in the meantime (I linked a similar one here).

I love the idea of adding color in the way of a hat, more specifically a beret, because it’s such a trendy. I talked about a beret in this post and have been wearing the trend all fall and winter. But, if you aren’t quite ready for the beret, there are other fun red accessories that could compliment this outfit for Valentine’s Day. Here is some more inspiration:

If you are looking for some sweet baking inspiration, I shared these Valentine’s Day Macarons last week that are not only delicious but perfect for Wednesday! You can see the recipe here. Thanks for stopping by and see you back here tomorrow. Have a great start to the week!

  5. This is such a cute outfit, girlie! The red beret and lip really pop against the black and work so well with the leopard clutch, such a classic and chic combination. I agree, the best way to experiment and inject color into an outfit is with accessories. You’re still adding something bold and exciting, but in a smaller dose that’s more approachable and doable, particularly for those who aren’t quite used to wearing color. Thanks for sharing, beauty, and I hope you have a great start to your week!
