Navy Velvet Jacket

velvet jacket winter outfit

Happy Monday, friends! It was a chilly and snowy weekend here in Northern Virginia. It’s been a few years since snow has come in December — I am afraid for the rest of winter! I had actually planned to wear this gorgeous navy velvet jacket to a Christmas party on Saturday evening, but I didn’t want the falling snow to ruin the velvet! Regardless, I couldn’t wait to share this perfect winter jacket with you.

Navy Velvet Jacket

I have been loving velvet since late summer and I can’t seem to get enough of it this fall and winter. I wore this velvet bell sleeve dress a few weeks ago in this post. Velvet is such a luxurious fabric and so perfect during the holiday season. So when I spotted this cabi velvet jacket from their new arrivals a few weeks ago, I knew I had to have it! I have quite a coat and jacket obsession (just wait until Thursday’s post!) but I knew that a velvet jacket would make for a pretty dress coat option.

I have talked about one of the newest accessories trends in Wednesday Wishes, but this is the first time I am wearing this trend! The always classic, and now trendy, beret seemed like a fabulous accessory for this velvet jacket. And I have to say, I am so glad the beret trend is back! And speaking of accessories, this monogrammed clutch is the perfect match for the velvet jacket. My aunt got me this clutch for my birthday and I am obsessed!

Have a great start to the week and see you back here tomorrow for a yummy Christmas morning recipe! Thanks for stopping by!

  2. This jacket is GORGEOUS and I love that it’s all velvet! I’m also totally digging your beret–I have a red one on my wish list! I’m SO nervous too about this winter–I feel like it’s going to be a rough one!

  3. I wouldn’t want to take the chance and have snow ruin this jacket either – it’s amazing!! I love that it’s velvet and the color is such a rich navy that you just don’t see everyday. And I have to admit that I’m a little jealous of your snow! It was another 80 degree weekend here…sometimes I just hate it so much! Can’t wait to check out tomorrow’s Christmas morning recipe!..I’m sure it’s going to be a good one! Hope you guys had a great weekend, Rachel! XO
