My Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Shopping List

my nordstrom anniversary sale shopping listWith the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale only a few days away for Nordstrom cardholders, today I wanted to share what is on my shopping list. I understand that this sale can be overwhelming (and over talked about) so I thought it would be helpful to structure this year’s posts in a different format. While I will be sharing a round-up of pieces on Friday (the sale starts at 12:30 p.m. EST this Friday for cardholders) and a review of the purchases I ultimately make (good, bad and ugly style like in last year’s post HERE), that will probably the extent of my coverage. As much as I love fall clothes and cannot wait for fall temperatures, I still have a few summer outfits I want to share with you. Because let’s face it, it is still mid-July!

What is the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale?

I have to be honest, I haven’t seen much of the sale this year. For the first time ever, I did not receive a catalog in the mail. I’m still upset about that! And it wasn’t until a few days ago that I actually found the online catalog. But, from what I have seen, I have created a shopping list focused on four areas: fall brights, animal print, designer denim and best of beauty. Everyone uses the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale for a different purpose: whether it is stocking up on fall basics or scoring designer pieces are great prices. No matter how you shop, it is a great sale and the only sale that discounts fall clothing in the middle of summer.

How can I shop the Anniversary Sale?

Since the sale does not begin until Friday, the products that I have linked in this post will take you to the item, but it will not be “shoppable” until Friday at 12:30 p.m. EST for cardholders. The sale opens to the public next Friday, July 19th. If you are not a Nordstrom cardholder and are interested in signing up so you can shop a week sooner, you can do that here.

Fall Brights

Bright colors in the fall? Why not! I have loved so many of the bright pieces that are featured in the Anniversary Sale catalog this year. The first item that was added to my shopping list was this blue coat. I was disappointed with a lavender coat that was featured in the sale last year (you can read more about it in this post) so I am hoping to have better luck with this one. Continuing the bright trend, this pink skirt is also on my wish list. The color and pocket details are fun and I love the work-appropriate length. Last but not least in the bright category, this green sweater. I always love the selection of sweaters during the sale and this color is calling my name! It would be cute worn casually with jeans or even paired with a skirt to wear to work.

Animal Print

When is animal print not on my wish list! If you are an email subscriber, I shared a snakeskin print dress in the Fourth of July round-up newsletter and mentioned that snakeskin was going to be huge for fall. If you take a look at the Anniversary Sale catalog, you will see this trend featured heavily. And it’s not just snakeskin. Leopard will also be having a moment again this year (thank goodness!). This cardigan is on top of my animal print wish list. And if I were to bet, I’m 99% sure it will sell out. I love the long, oversized style and you can’t beat the under $50 price. Also on my list are these leopard ankle booties. How fabulous are these?! I probably do not need another pair of leopard shoes, but I love the dressier style of this ankle bootie for fall. And continuing with accessories, this leopard belt will be the perfect accessory to wear this fall with jeans.

Designer Jeans

I wouldn’t say I am picky about my jeans; however, I do know what brands of jeans fit and do not fit. There are only about 2-3 brands that I actually like and unfortunately for me, they are on the expensive end. This is why I love the Anniversary Sale! I only buy my jeans during this sale because of the massive discount. While I do have a few pairs of under $75 jeans, there is something to be said for a designer pair. I have a pair of jeans that I bought several years ago at the Anniversary Sale that I am still wearing. They are a classic silhouette that comes back in style each year and with a high price tag comes a higher quality. Whether you are looking for more basic jeans like this lighter wash and this darker wash, or something more fun like these leopard print jeans, I highly recommend stocking up on your favorite designer jeans during this sale. I know I will!

Best of Beauty

Another category I love shopping for during the sale is beauty. There are so many great beauty sets that allow you to try several products at a discounted rate. I have found so many great eyeshadow palettes and lip color combinations during the sale because of these sets! Currently on my wish list is this Charlotte Tilbury lip kit featuring a lip pencil, lipstick and lipgloss. I love a neutral lip and Charlotte Tilbury makes some of the best lip products. I am also a huge fan of drybar products and this set is a great deal. It includes my go-to hair clips (I use these everyday!) and my favorite heat protectant. I also included this eyeshadow palette on my list. I love trying new shades and a palette is the best way to do this!

….

What is on your wish list for fall? I will be back with a special Friday post covering my first round-up of the sale once it goes live at 12:30 p.m. So be sure to check back in the afternoon on Friday! Thanks for reading and have a wonderful Wednesday, friends!

  3. I snuck a peek at the online catalog, but to be honest…I’m just not feeling it this year. I’m still in a total summer mode, so buying a bunch of sweaters and taking photos just isn’t in me this time around. But I will say that I saw a lot of plaid and bright pieces that I love…so I may just buy them now and wear later 🙂 Happy shopping! Can’t wait to see what you pick!
