The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale opens to non-cardholders today! Today I am sharing my experience from the sale. I shared a similar post last year (see it here) and since it was so popular, here is this year’s edition: Nordstrom Anniversary Sale: the good, bad and ugly.

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale: The Good, Bad and Ugly

As with any Anniversary Sale, there were a few must-have items on my list. Being slightly obsessive, my alarm was set for 12:30 p.m. last Friday so I could be sure to get everything on my wish list. I was thrilled that I was able to get last Friday’s blog post up, newsletter sent and my order purchased in the first 10 minutes of the sale! A week later, part of my order has been cancelled and I haven’t received the majority of the things I ordered. I don’t mean to complain, but if you can’t get something within the first TEN minutes of the sale, how is anyone suppose to shop “the biggest sale of the year”?

I’m hoping that things will be restocked today. I’ve heard this complaint from so many people! Last year, there wasn’t much restocking that occurred on the first day of sale being open to the public. I’m hoping that Nordstrom has learned their lesson from last year!

I was hoping to have more to share with you, but since the majority of my purchases have yet to arrive, this is what I have so far. If the package comes over the weekend, I might try to sneak a try-on session into Monday’s post. However, I did go into my local Nordstrom and was able to try on a few things and I will be sharing my review of those items as well.

Long Leopard Cardigan

This cardigan was at the top of my Anniversary Sale list this year. I obviously loved the leopard print, but BP. always makes a great fall cardigan and I love the length of this one. I paired it with a white tee and high waisted jeans, but it would also work with black jeans and ankle booties or black leggings (I LOVE these from the sale!) and over the knee boots. Fit is true to size. I am wearing a medium. This is a great buy!

Cozy Leopard Top & Joggers

Ok, we all know I love leopard. But I will admit, it may be a little much with the leopard on leopard unless you are wearing these as pajamas. Although, in all honesty, I will probably be wearing this set around the house all fall haha! This set was another item that was on the top of my wish list. And it did not disappoint! The fabric is incredibly soft and makes for the perfect lounge set. To get a better idea, I’ve styled the set separately below. Pairing the joggers with a white thermal tee slightly dresses it up making it the perfect weekend errand outfit. Then I paired the top with jeans for another casual outfit idea. You could even wear the top with white jeans and wear it on a cool summer evening. Shop the top here and the joggers here. Both run true to size. I am wearing a medium in both.

pointy toe ankle booties

Pointy Toe Ankle Booties

These ankle booties were a bit of a last minute addition to my wish list, but I’m so glad I bought them! I love the crocodile print and the ankle boot style. My only concern was the color. Also available in black leather and red suede here and leopard print here, I was afraid this beige would be too similar to my skin tone. While it is definitely a beige, I think with pants, jeans or even midi length dresses, the color won’t be too much of an issue. And they are super comfortable. True to size and under $100, I’m wearing a size 9.5. I’m looking forward to wearing these as we transition to fall. Shop these pointy toe ankle booties here.

Barefoot Dreams Blankets (solid colors here)

I rave about Barefoot Dreams all the time, but my favorite Barefoot Dreams find has to be these leopard blankets. The original leopard print was a gift for my birthday a few years ago and now stays in my office. When we moved to the new house and I was decorating our family room, I was using a lot of grey accents. I decided that the grey leopard blanket would be the perfect accessory for the room. Barefoot Dreams Pillow

When I first saw the pillow online — who even knew they MADE a pillow! — I thought it was a must-have for me. I actually forgot to add it to my bag while shopping last Friday. But, I did see it in person at my local Nordstrom store and I have to say, I wasn’t impressed. The fabric didn’t feel quite as soft as the blanket version and for the price, I just don’t see it being worth it.

High Waisted Leopard Jeans

When I first saw these online, I was thrilled. Leopard jeans are the one thing missing from my closet. Hard to believe I don’t already have a pair, right?! Because I wasn’t familiar with the sizing of this brand, I wanted to try them on in-store. I’m glad I did, because the fit was way off. I love high waisted pants, but these seemed to be egregiously high. And I’m 5’8! And for the price, I didn’t think the fabric was all that soft. My favorite pair of Paige Denim (see above) is much softer and less expensive. The quest for leopard jeans continues.

Lightweight Long Coat

If you caught my post from last week (see it here), you may remember this coat was pretty high on my wish list. I had been searching for a longer coat in a color for a few years. I thought this blue color would have been perfect and I loved the length. However, it’s more boxy and oversized and I usually like my jackets and coats to be more tailored. My search will continue for a new long coat.
