Splurge vs. Save is back! One of the most popular series here on A Blonde’s Moment, and today I am rounding up fall trends: splurge vs. save style! And while I still have summer content to share with you, the temperatures dropped into the 60s yesterday morning and it was giving me all the fall feels. Quite the change from the over 100 degrees we experienced just a few days ago. Even though the majority of us can’t even think about fall clothes yet, it doesn’t hurt to start planning your fall wardrobe and looking at trends for the season. Here are five fall trends: splurge vs. save!

Fall Trends: Splurge vs. Save

As much as I am enjoying summer, and not ready to put my warm weather favorites away yet, I am excited for some of fall’s hottest trends. We got a glimpse of some of these trends during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale this year: from animal print to bold colors, these are five trends we will be seeing all fall long. And with all my splurge vs. save posts, you can find the trend at both the designer and budget friendly price points.

Leopard Dress

And it’s not just leopard! Animal print is going to be huge again for fall. And I’m obviously excited! As we are only in July, there are already SO many leopard (and other animal print) dresses available. See a complete round-up here. But when I first found this splurge leopard dress, it was different from most of the silhouettes I have been seeing. I then stumbled upon the save version and knew I had to include it in today’s post. I ordered a leopard dress during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale (it still hasn’t arrived) and I’m hoping it fits. I’m also wondering how many leopard dresses hanging in my closet is socially acceptable? haha!

Bright Sweaters

Besides all the animal print I’ve seen for fall, the other trend I am most excited about is fall brights. I mentioned fall brights in this post when I was previewing the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and I love the extensive collection. From sweaters to coats, these fall brights are making me happy! And speaking of sweaters, both the splurge and save versions of the pink sweater will be perfect for fall. I can see it being paired with black cropped jeans and snakeskin ankle booties. Combining two fall trends into one look!

Snakeskin Everything

While leopard has been pretty popular for the past few years (always popular in my book!) snakeskin is making a huge entrance this fall. From dresses to jackets and from loafers to booties, snakeskin is everywhere! I included a pair of animal print jeans in my good, bad and ugly post of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, but I love the idea of snakeskin jeans. Printed jeans are always a fun way to dress up a regular pair of jeans and a top and sweater. It can instantly dress up an otherwise casual jean and sweater combo. I actually have a pair of snakeskin jeans from a few years ago and I cannot wait to break them out this fall. Fingers crossed they still fit!

Oversized Plaid Blazer

Blazers and jackets are some of my favorite pieces in the fall. Especially to wear to my 9-5 job. But what I love most about blazers and jackets is that they can be easily styled with jeans for a more casual, everyday kind of look. The oversized blazer will be everywhere this fall and I can’t say that I am mad about it. It’s easy to throw on for work or casual and I love the oversized, more relaxed fit of these two styles.

Printed Flower Boots

I think it’s safe to say that fun, out of the ordinary boots are going to be big for fall. Whether it be snakeskin booties or printed flower boots like these two, statement shoes are on-trend. However, I’m not sure that I am on the flower boot trend yet. It’s not that I don’t like it, just not sure that I could pull it off. I could see either of these boots paired with a black velvet dress or black cropped jeans and a sweater. I think it’s best to think of these flower boots as any other statement boot. Although, I know that florals aren’t for everyone. Give me a few months and I think I’ll be able to jump on this trend bandwagon!
