Springing into Yellow

springing into yellow

There is nothing like yellow in the springtime. Yellow is one color that seems to be present in spring pieces year after year, regardless of trends. However, this year more than ever, yellow can be found just about anywhere. Purple may be the color of the year, but this bright and cheerful shade is definitely giving purple a run for it’s money. Here is some spring yellow outfit inspiration for today’s Wednesday Wishes…

Springing into Yellow

Of all the colors, yellow is one color I wish I could wear more. With fair skin and blonde hair, it’s hard to find a shade of yellow that looks good on me. I’m so jealous of all of you who wear it with such ease! I’ve had my eye on quite a few yellow pieces for spring (mainly this ruffle midi dress and this lace off the shoulder dress). However, the ruffle midi dress is too much like my hair and the pale yellow of the off the shoulder dress is probably too much of a match for my skin tone!

For me, if I wear yellow, it is typically in accessories like handbags, jewelry or even shoes. I can typically get away with a yellow that is slightly more neon or has elements of green, such as the crossbody (post here) or a neon fringe dress (post here). But with so many cute yellow accessories this season, I think there are plenty of ways to wear this shade without dressing from head to toe and looking like Big Bird!

As much as I love all the fun statement earrings, the shoes really take the cake for me in today’s set. Bow details are everywhere this season. I love the bow detail on these slides, the gingham slides and the block heel sandals. As for handbags, the circle bag is super trendy this year (you can see a circle bag I picked up in last Thursday’s post here) and I love this yellow circle crossbody. Available in a few colors and under $50, it’s a great way to embrace the trend without breaking the bank.

Do you have a lot of yellow in your closet? I would love to know how you feel about this bright and cheerful shade!

  1. Yellow LOVE!! Next week I am showcasing a yellow gingham dress. All these cute pieces just scream SUNSHINE!!! Have the BEST day!

  2. Love all of these fun pieces! I am like you and generally keep yellow to accessories. It’s not really a color that I am naturally drawn to, but those tie waist pants just might change everything!

  3. Love your outfit with the blue earrings and the yellow purse and white top! So refreshing for Spring! I have a bright yellow top that I love to pull out once spring arrives. It’s still a little cold to wear it over here but I have been eyeing it in my closet!

  4. I personally think mustard yellow would look so good on you, like those pants! These are such great finds, girlie. I’ve really been crushing on green as of late, which is quite surprising because I never used to be a fan of it. Thanks for sharing this inspo and I hope you have a great rest of the week!
