It’s hard to believe fall is just around the corner. Where did summer go? Each fall, I like to take a look at colors that are trending for the new season. While burgundy, olive green and cognac will always be considered fall colors, over the next few weeks I will be looking at other, not so assuming, colors to wear this autumn. It’s not a surprise that Pantone’s Color of the Year has made it’s way to fall. However, the great thing about this lavender shade is that you can start wearing it now! A color that works for both summer and fall is the perfect way to transition your wardrobe for the new season. Here are my picks for fall (and summer!) lavender inspiration:

Fall Lavender Inspiration

While lavender will be a big color this fall, that doesn’t mean you have to wait to wear it until cooler temperatures arrive. Admittedly, I’m still trying to get on board with this shade for fall. Last year, I bought a lavender ruffle sleeve cardigan for fall and that was totally outside my comfort zone (you can see that post here). But, the color is growing on me and I love that lavender is an acceptable shade to wear as we transition into fall. Wear this jumpsuit (check out the cute back detail!) and button-front linen dress now and save the scallop trim sweater and wrap sweater for later.

If you still aren’t sure about the lavender trend, accessories are a great place to start. Adding little pops of the shade offer a great way to experiment with the color trend. From the cute velvet bow scrunchie (also available in other colors), the stud earrings or crystal embellished hoop earrings or the pointy toe loafers, there are some fabulous lavender options.
