A must-have fall dress under $100. Sounds too good to be true, right? I have been dreaming of this dress since I first spotted it during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. I wasn’t quick enough to add it to my shopping bag and it sold out. Needless to say I was devastated. It came back into stock, but was backordered. When Nordstrom gave the estimated shipping date of late October, it seemed like a lifetime away. Well, the dress I had been waiting for arrived last week and I couldn’t wait to wear it.

Styling a Spring Dress for Fall & Guide to Pittsburgh
If I have said it once, I have said it one hundred times, I love a versatile piece that can be worn across the seasons. I first bought this orange swing dress in the spring (you may remember it from this post) and I loved wearing it all spring. Once the temperatures warmed up, I had to put it aside, but was determined to find another way to wear it once the cooler temperatures arrived. We spent the weekend in Pittsburgh a few weekends ago and couldn’t wait to style this spring dress for fall.
Orange Ruffle Shawl
After temperatures near 90 for the past week, the cooler weather that is on the horizon has me oh so excited. Not only will it be wonderful to have a break from this heat, I am more than ready for my fall clothes to stick around. Layers, boots, there are so many exciting things headed our way! When I spotted the orange ruffle shawl from cabi’s newest arrivals (now available!) adding it to my closet was a no-brainer. Not only did I love the ruffle, but that orange color! It was way too good to miss out on.
Fall Finds Under $100
yellow dress | emerald tassel earrings | wool beret | tassel crossbody bag | printed flats | flare sleeve sweater | shoulder bag | layered necklace | fringe crop jeans | pink ruffle skirt | leopard sweatshirt | plum lipstick | grey ankle boots
The weather is really playing games with us here in Northern Virginia. After the cooler temperatures two weekends ago, I was convinced we would be welcoming an early fall. Alas, it was nearly 90 degrees yesterday so it seems that we may have to wait a few more weeks for fall to stick around. Since I can’t experience fall quite yet, I have been dreaming of all the fall layers, fabrics and cute accessories non-stop. Today, I am rounding up a few of my favorite fall finds under $100.
NYFW Recap
Before heading to NYFW, I was on the hunt for a midi length dress that was comfortable enough to take me from morning to evening while in New York. We were only going to be in the city for two full days, the days were going to be long and jammed packed. Needless to say, we fit a lot into a little over 48 hours in the city: from a stop at rewardStyle’s NYFW headquarters and the new LTK wall, shows, a showroom visit and of course some tourist activities, we were non-stop. Today it’s all about my NYFW recap along with outfit details from day 1. Apologies in advance for a picture-heavy post!
Falling for Blues: Blue Outfit Inspiration for Fall
ruffle dress | neck scarf | stud earrings | link necklace | velvet booties | tassel pouch | stone cocktail ring | eyelet top | drop earrings | tie sleeve sweatshirt | saddle bag | ruffle skirt
One of my favorite things about welcoming a new season is adding new colors to my wardrobe. And although these shades of blue aren’t typically associated with fall, I have been falling for blues of all shades in anticipation of the new season.
Fall Color Crush: Rust
lace dress | floral earrings | sunglasses | lipstick (#14) | faux leather skirt | bucket bag | eyeshadow palette | cuff bracelet | lipgloss (penny) | ankle strap pump | nail polish (#88) | boatneck sweater
Each fall, there is an “it” color of the season. For me, I typically gravitate towards green, camel and burgundy in the fall. But this year, there is one color in particular I have my eye on. I think it’s safe to say I’ve found my fall color crush: rust.
Lilac Ruffle Sleeve Cardigan
I am sure you are starting to sense a common theme around here. Yes, I will confess. I have a ruffle problem. And the funniest thing is until last year, I never really liked them! Ruffles of the past, in my opinion, were over the top girly and often seemed overwhelming. Which I realize is ironic since this lilac ruffle sleeve cardigan has some pretty big sleeves.
White Eyelet Top Styled for Summer and Fall
Summer Outfit: eyelet top | floral drop earrings | wrap around lace sandals, also here | mirrored aviator sunglasses | embroidered bag | nail polish (mums the word) | lipstick (velvet teddy) | denim shorts
Fall Outfit: eyelet top | gold drop earrings | nail polish (broody) | animal print loafer mule | lipstick (red carpet red) | sunglasses | crossbody tote | high-waisted jeans
Styling a white blouse is one of the easiest ways to take a piece from season to season. As I mentioned last week, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale has a tendency to give you unrealistic ideas about what month it actually is! I found myself telling my hair stylist yesterday that my hair was getting too blonde and we needed to darken it for fall. He looked at me like I was crazy and said, “Rachel, it’s the first day of August!” Needless to say, I have fall on my mind! In an effort to stay season appropriate, I wanted to share two looks today that incorporate the same white eyelet top styled for summer and fall.
Fall Color Inspiration: Green
ruffle hem utility dress | emerald green statement earrings | crossbody bag | enamel logo bracelet | peep toe bootie | camo sweater | embroidered skirt | convertible leather hobo | sunglasses | eyeshadow palette | camo rain boots | hat | embroidered boyfriend chino pants
The combination of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and the cooler temperatures this week have me counting down the days until fall. One color that I have been loving and wearing since January is green. I had high hopes for this shade when it was announced as the Pantone Color of the Year and it has not disappointed. I’m so excited to share today’s fall color inspiration with you because it’s a shade that continues to grow on me (and in my closet!). All of these pieces are perfect for transitioning from summer to fall.
