A classic chambray shirt. It’s one of my favorite tops to wear in the spring, but what about the winter? I was looking at my spring clothes the other day (desperately looking forward to wearing them soon!) and figured it wasn’t too early to start incorporating spring into my outfits. Today I am talking about how to wear chambray in winter.
Cozy, comfortable and ready to conquer the world. That is typically what is on my mind when I think weekend style. It tends to vary depending on the season, but most weekends you will find me wearing something similar to this while running errands, going to the grocery store and doing housework. I am always in the market for cute and comfortable clothes that can double for a casual weekend or dressed up with jeans for date night. This has been my winter weekend uniform as of late and it definitely ranks up there with one of most comfortable looks I have ever shared.

I have always been a fan of turtlenecks. Whether they are sweaters or shirts, my closet is filled with them. I know that some people are not fans, and in some cases, I can see why. Depending on the turtleneck, it can feel constraining. Enter the mockneck. While it does not feel nearly as constraining as a turtleneck and gives you a similar affect with a higher neckline.

Happy Monday, friends! I don’t know about you, but I’m looking forward to spring. From the colors to the warmer weather, I’m counting down the days. We had a taste of spring last week — it was in the 60s on Friday! — and it had me thinking about my spring wardrobe. It’s never too soon to start planning! Although the temperatures have warmed up here in Northern Virginia, it was absolutely freezing here last weekend. The temperature on my car read -2! I had never seen a negative number on my car before. I obviously had to take a picture to document it! Regardless, I had been searching for a warm coat since the fall. Appropriately named “the perfect winter parka”, this coat is cute, warm and is even lined with blush pink!

Oversized sweaters are my go-to this time of the year. My collection continues to grow, which is necessary since this weather is so chilly! But this olive green sweater with the cold shoulder details is definitely one of the more unique sweaters in my closet. I’ve worn this sweater a few times since Christmas, but dressing it up with over the knee boots makes it the perfect winter date night outfit.
Don’t let the sun in these pictures fool you. As with much of the country, it has been terribly cold here in Northern Virginia. I think the temperature was around 10 degrees when we were taking these pictures! Definitely colder than your typical winter day in Virginia. With the cold temperatures continuing through the weekend, I have been reaching for my warmest sweaters. It got me thinking, what stores are my go-to for finding cozy and warm sweaters?
